Amina-sama, great post! I think the desire to belong or be something other than you are leads people into lots of trouble. Rachel Dolezal is a classic example and sort of in the same stream is Vanilla Ice pretending to be a could who grew up on the mean streets of the cities. It can be problematic if you’re influencing policy and can put it in a negative direction. If you’re just doing it on your own, it’s not a big deal.
Throughout history there have definitely people who adopt an identity and blend in or don’t and impact history positively or negatively for the groups they enter
